Kwikill subscribe to a philosophy of integrated pest control. It is commonly known as Integrated Pest Management or IPM.
Integrated pest management has become the accepted philosophy of pest control.
This approach relies primarily on non-chemical means (such as controlling climate, food sources, and building entry points) to prevent and manage pest infestation. Chemical treatments are used only in a crisis situation threatening rapid losses or when pests fail to succumb to more conservative methods.
Integrated pest management strategies encourage ongoing maintenance and housekeeping to ensure that pests will not find a hospitable environment in a building. Activities include building inspection, proofing and maintenance; climate control; restriction of food and plants; regular cleaning; proper storage; control over incoming collections to avoid infestation of existing collections; and routine monitoring for pests.
Circumstances often dictate the use of chemicals in the form of Rodenticides and Insecticides. We only utilise those that demonstrate a high level of efficacy against target pests, yet are safe to humans. All our pesticides have been approved by the appropriate authorities.
There are several factors beyond our control which can affect the outcome of a pest control programme. If due attention is given to these areas then it will complement the treatment. If these areas are neglected then it will have a detrimental effect on the treatment and may result in the programme failing altogether. At each service our technician will give recommendations on housekeeping, stacking and proofing in his treatment report and we ask for your assistance in the implementation of these.
The Pest Management Service Folder contains site plans and relevant documentation indicating the treatment procedure carried out on your premises. It will be designed specifically for use on your premises and remains the intellectual property of Kwikill at all times.
Documentation will be submitted after completion of each inspection and treatment, outlining the following:
The Pest Management Report/Sighting Book can be filled in by responsible personnel on the sighting of any pest. Reports will be actioned and signed off by our technician after each visit. If you require immediate attention, contact Kwikill.
A Pest Sighting Action Report and (where necessary) an Inspection/Treatment Report will be recorded after each visit.
A Pest Management Incursion Report will be submitted, when required, to assist in the further control of all aforementioned pests/treatments.
A Pest Management Quality Assurance Internal Audit will be conducted by a suitably qualified third party consultant, if required. A written report will be submitted together with proposals and recommendations on any housekeeping and training recommendations.
